This course discusses the basics of database design and management which includes aspects of database concepts, database modeling and query languages. The aim of this course is that students are able to model data using discrete structures......
master the concepts and principles of relational databases, design relational database models based on needs, and implement relational database management with query languages.
This ability will be required by almost all courses that use data, including when taking part in real work courses, internships and theses.

Topics taught include: introduction, business rules, conceptual modeling, normalization, mapping from conceptual modeling to physical design, Data Definition Language (DDL), and Data Manipulation Language (DML).
