This course studies the types of information sources and basic reference information services found in almost all libraries/information centers, terminology concepts, and practices for providing reference and information services to meet user needs effectively in various settings. Students will be directed to choose one of four fields of study, namely Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Applied Technology or Humanities by studying in depth the sources of information and services. The choice of field of study is targeted to produce one resource guide in the chosen field.
